{"id":3086,"date":"2023-08-19T18:03:14","date_gmt":"2023-08-20T01:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chopchopbillygoat.net\/?p=3086"},"modified":"2023-08-30T18:53:23","modified_gmt":"2023-08-31T01:53:23","slug":"trusty-tusty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chopchopbillygoat.net\/?p=3086","title":{"rendered":"Trusty Tusty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After leaving Anchor Point we took the ferry M\/V Tustumena from Homer to Kodiak Island.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike all the other ferries in the Alaska Marine Highway fleet, the M\/V Tustumena loads vehicles by having them drive onto a vehicle elevator which then lowers the vehicle down to the car deck. Once on the car deck the elevator platform rotates 90 degrees so the vehicle can drive off into the car deck.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"604\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4pEo9pZwXjg?si=-jAMH3XTEktsj2z2\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<i>Ma driving Big Blue onto the M\/V Tustumena&#8217;s vehicle elevator. You can&#8217;t tell from this, but there was no barrier at the far end of the elevator so Ma was driving right up to the edge of a sheer drop down to the ocean.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
